Lighthouse features live and recorded audio, as well as two-way audio so you can check in with someone at home. See below for details on setting up and using audio:
Audio streaming and recording will be on automatically for all cameras activated after July 26, 2018.
To turn audio on or off, take the following steps:
- Open the Lighthouse app and tap the More tab
- Tap on your camera name(s)
- Tap Privacy
- Toggle the audio slider to turn audio on or off
Note: multi-camera users will need to do this for each camera
Live audio and audio recording will match the camera's privacy setting (so whenever the camera's off, no audio will record). At this time, we don't feature the ability to choose only live audio or recorded audio--they're a package deal.
Turning the camera off using the button on the Home tab also stops audio recording, though you'll need to remember to turn it on again later.
Please note: the Daily Recap feature and daily summaries won't have audio in its recordings, due to the sped-up nature of the video, and audio is not available for shared video clips.
Any invited user with an owner or member account can use built-in two-way audio to talk to someone at home through the camera.
To activate two-way audio:
- Open the Home tab in the app
- Tap the 2-Way Talk microphone icon to start a conversation
- Tap the mic again to end the call
Note: weaker cell phone connections may have trouble maintaining a two-way audio connection. If you experience this, please try switching to WiFi for a stronger cell connection.
