If a friend or family member has invited you to join his/her Lighthouse account, here's a quick guide to what Lighthouse is, accepting the invite, and how to use Lighthouse.
What is Lighthouse?
Lighthouse is an interactive assistant that lets owners stay connected to their home while they're away.
Lighthouse's camera, two-way audio and machine learning-powered intelligence let Lighthouse notify users when something happens at home (like kids getting home), search for recorded video, get security notifications, and more.
Accepting the invitation
When you are invited, you'll receive an email or text with a link to accept it. The invite link will last 24 hours, and the invitation must be opened on a cell phone. To accept the invitation, all you'll need to do is tap the invite link on your phone (desktop or laptop computers will not work).
After accepting, if the app is not installed, the App Store or Google Play Store will open. You should install the app, tap "Create account," and set up a new account.
Once you've set up your account, what you see will depend on the access level you've been granted:
Owner: Full access to video, app, account and device settings.
Member: Full access to the video and app, but can't change settings or invite new users.
Guest: No video access, but the system will recognize you so you don't trigger a false alarm.
All user types will be recognized by the owner's Lighthouse system through their phone's GPS, and the system will disarm when you arrive (so you don't send false alerts if the camera sees you while the owner's away).
